ernie c ernst is a rocker trapped in the body of a folk singer. since moving to austin in early 2000, she's immersed herself in the austin music scene. she was the bassist / co-front woman in sock puppet, bassist / vocalist in the after school special, and is currently the sometimes bassist / sometimes guitarist for the sexy finger champs. she also shakes her ass for neil as one half of the smugglettes in austin's most disturbing neil diamond cover band, the diamond smugglers. she has most recently helped form map of hawaii, as a bassist and vocalist, while acting as the long-distance studio vocalist for the denton hip-hop project, u me and a dj. she perfoms regular acoustic gigs, and has released one full length solo album, entitled "a jester's life" and most recently, "the sketchy bunny e.p." her newest solo album, "rabbit vs. fan" is due for release in early 2006. her vocals can also be heard on various local releases, including milton mapes' "westernaire," almost there records ' who tribute, "who and who" (performing with saratone,) and moonlight towers' latest release, "like you were never there."
